The article linked below puts a whole new spin on the goals of the Make Home Affordable plan passed by the US Congress last March.
For the last few weeks, the media has been repeating the statement by The US Treasury Dept that they want to modify 235,000 more mortgages by this Nov, after lenders at least issued ‘trial modifications’ to 230,000 since last March. This article quotes that the program is meeting expectations. US Treasury’s goal is three or four million modifications over the next three years. That’s not the way I heard it for the last three weeks. Every one of the reports on the success of Making Home Affordable were preceeded by endless reports of people who can’t get their mortgage modified even now.
This article goes on to say that financial sense for the banks is of paramount importance. I’m shocked that no one states the obvious; the banks should be forced to follow the guidelines outlined in HAMP, Home Affordable Mortgage Plan. Treasury and the White House have made it clear they can’tt force lenders to observe HAMP. It is up to the nations courts. The REST Report uses the bank’s own software to calculate their mortgage modifications and short sales. The success rate for the REST Report is phenomenal.
Currently the nation is embroiled in ‘Foreclosuregate, mortgage lender fraud, foreclosure fraud, robosigners,’ etc. How anyone would believe Treasury is beyond me.
For the foreseeable future, if you want to save your home with a mortgage modification, the solution is with the REST Report. The REST Report calculates NPV, or Net Present Value, using the same software your banks use. When presented to a foreclosure judge, it will bring your foreclosure to a dead halt. You need not worry about ‘Foreclosuregate’ again.
